The government has been evaluating the ramifications of building another runway at Heathrow compared to the advantages and disadvantages of expanding the capacity of Gatwick Airport, with the decision is due on Tuesday.
EasyJet, which is based at London's Luton Airport and does not currently flying from the capital's main hub, said it would consider offering flights from Heathrow if the airport was given the green light to build a new runway.
"We can say with great confidence that easyJet would operate from Heathrow if a new runway is built," the airline said in a report submitted to the Airports Commission.
The carrier added that expanding Heathrow, which according to the Airports Commission would cost between £3bn and £4bn more than originally thought, would offer the greatest benefits for Britain's economy and the passengers.
In a statement released on Friday, Heathrow Airport said it was "delighted" by the news of easyJet backing, while Gatwick Airport criticised the company for basing its decision on "its own narrow commercial interests".
EasyJet said it could offer up to 19 new routes from Heathrow Airport, adding its fares are, on average, 40% cheaper than those of the other airlines currently serving London's biggest airport.
EasyJet shares were up 0.32% to 1,882.00p at 15:18 on Friday.
