UK public sector borrowing falls between April and November, but debt rises
UK public sector net borrowing fell between April and November, but net debt in November rose £89.7bn against the same month a year ago.
Public sector net borrowing excluding public sector banks (PSNB ex) from April to November 2014 was £75.8bn, down £500m compared with the same period in 2013/14, according to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
PSNB ex was £14.1bn in November 2014, down £1.6bn compared with November 2013.
Public sector net debt excluding public sector banks (PSND ex) was £1,457.2bn or 79.5% of gross domestic product at the end of November, up £89.7bn compared with November 2013.
The central government net cash requirement (CGNCR) from April to November 2014 was £63.3bn, up £17.3bn compared with the same period in 2013/14.
This was largely due to cash transfers from the Bank of England's asset purchase facility being £20.2bn lower in year-to-date 2014/15 than in the same period in 2013/14, the ONS said.
