Afren's target price was cut from 130p to 110p, Premier Oil's was reduced by 85p to 335p, while Enquest fell in sympathy.
Cairn was also hit by the bank's analysts, who trimmed their target price on the shares after its third quarter results which offered no news on its Indian tax travails.
Meanwhile, Countrywide impressed with its third quarter report, in which it revealed that business had hit a record level.
National Express cheered with news it is on track to meet its profit expectations for the full-year after a 15% increase in third quarter pre-tax profit reversed the decline in growth from the first half of the year. In the UK, its revenue grew on the back of higher passenger numbers in UK bus, UK coach and UK rail divisions.
Al Noor Hospitals pleased investors with a 20.5% rise in third quarter revenue, in line with its expectations. Helping the share price to lift around 2.6% early on, the group reported turnover of $101.2m, up from $84m in the same period a year earlier.
