                        ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT

Abacus Group plc, a leading franchised distributor of electronic components in
the UK and all major European countries, will hold its AGM today at 10:00am.
Chairman of Abacus, Harry Westropp, will give the following trading update to
shareholders for the first four months of the 2008 financial year:

"Sales and profit performance have been satisfactory and in line with Board
expectations.  In particular, trading in the four month period to date has seen
a positive book to bill ratio for the Group.  Net borrowings at 31 December 2007
were £58.2 million (30 September 2007: £59.9 million) reflecting the receipt of
property disposal proceeds."
