Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc ("the Company") announces that on 14 June 12 it purchased through Bank of America Merrill Lynch 1,000,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 277.6239 pence per share.  The highest price and the lowest price paid for these shares were 279 pence and 276.5 pence respectively. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 8,073,406 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 2,454,439,913 (excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares). 

The total number of voting rights in the Company, excluding treasury shares is 2,454,439,913. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
