12 May 2008 FirstGroup plc Transfer of shares held in treasury

FirstGroup plc ("the Company") announces that on 12 May 2008 it transferred to participants in the Company's employee SAYE scheme 7,091 ordinary shares at a price of 267 pence per share. The shares were all formerly held as treasury shares.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, the Company holds a total of 395,071 of its ordinary shares in treasury. The total number of ordinary shares in issue excluding treasury shares is 437,883,727.
