M&G Equity Investment Trust P.L.C. (M&G Equity) announces that on 13 May 2008 it purchased and cancelled 200,000 M&G Equity Package Units at a price of 105.25 pence per Package Unit. This represents 0.12% of M&G Equity's issued share capital.

To date, a total of 47,350,000 Package Units have been purchased and cancelled by M&G Equity resulting in a current issued share capital of 171,461,139 Zero Dividend Preference Shares 171,461,139 Income Shares and 171,461,139 Capital Shares.
