10 June 2008 FirstGroup plc Transfer of shares held in treasury

FirstGroup plc ("the Company") announces that on 10 June 2008 it transferred to participants in the Company's employee SAYE scheme 1,614 ordinary shares (1,417 for the maturity of the SAYE2004 scheme at a price of 267 pence per share and 197 for the early exercise of options of the SAYE2006 scheme at a price of 325 pence per share). The shares were all formerly held as treasury shares.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, the Company holds a total of 370,941 of its ordinary shares in treasury. The total number of ordinary shares in issue excluding treasury shares is 481,696,229.
