Costain secures more than £250 million of Highways work in 2008

Costain is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the £90.4 million ECI* contract by the Highways Agency to refurbish the Bell Common Tunnel between Junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 near Epping.

Work is expected to begin in Autumn 2008 and is due to be completed by December 2009.

The Bell Common Tunnel contract, in addition to the recent commencement of the £36 million A34 Wolvercote Viaduct replacement, helps to bring Costain's total Highways sector awards to more than £250 million in 2008. 

Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: 

"We are delighted to secure the Bell Common Tunnel project which, following the recent successful delivery of the M25 Holmesdale Tunnel, demonstrates Costain's commitment to securing repeat order business with the Company's key customers."
