16 June 2008 FirstGroup plc Transfer of shares held in treasury

FirstGroup plc ("the Company") announces that on 16 June 2008 it transferred to participants in the Company's employee SAYE scheme 10,680 ordinary shares for the maturity of the SAYE2004 scheme at a price of 267 pence per share. The shares were all formerly held as treasury shares.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, the Company holds a total of 360,261 of its ordinary shares in treasury. The total number of ordinary shares in issue excluding treasury shares is 481,706,909.
