Total Voting Rights

In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1 Vedanta Resources Plc ('Vedanta') today notifies the market of the following: 

As at the date of this announcement Vedanta's issued share capital includes 288,353,737 ordinary shares of US 10 cents each, of which 288,253,370 carry voting rights in relation to all circumstances at general meetings of Vedanta. The remaining 100,367 ordinary shares of US 10 Cents each were issued on the conversion of certain convertible bonds issued by one of Vedanta's subsidiaries. These 100,367 ordinary shares are held through a global depositary receipt and, as a result, carry no voting rights. There are no shares held in treasury by Vedanta.

The increase in voting shares results from the issue of 118,100 ordinary shares of US 10 cents each after STIP grants options were exercised by employee. 

The above figure of 288,253,370 may be used by shareholders (and others with notification obligations) as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change in their interest in, Vedanta under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
