REDEMPTION OF B SHARES

Dialight plc (the "Company") announces that 2,695,120 of the redeemable non-cumulative preference shares of 75 pence each in the capital of the Company ("B Shares") were redeemed on 30 June 2008. Accordingly, a total of 56,598,954 B Shares, representing 99.60 per cent. of the B Shares originally in issue, have now been redeemed in accordance with the terms and conditions attaching to the B Shares. The Company may, at its discretion, redeem the remaining 201,216 B Shares at any time and will be obliged to do so no later than 31 December 2008.

Mr H Tee, Chairman of Dialight plc, redeemed his total holding in B Shares of 2,590,922 at 30 June 2008.

Payment on the B Shares redeemed on 30 June 2008 will be settled through the CREST system or, for certificated holders, cheques will be despatched, no later than 8 July 2008.
