BG Group appoints new Non-Executive Director

BG Group has today announced the appointment of Sir David Manning GCMG as a 

Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointment, BG Group's Chairman Sir Robert Wilson said: "We are delighted to announce this appointment. Sir David's experience of government as a senior diplomat will be a valuable addition to our Board.

Sir David Manning, 58, joined the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1972. 

His most recent postings prior to retirement were as Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister and as British Ambassador in Washington.

Sir David is a non-executive director of Lloyds TSB Group plc.
