Notifiable Interest

The board of Forum Energy announces that it received notification on 28 August 2008 that on 20 August 2008 Philex Petroleum Corporation ("PPC") and FEC Resources Inc ("FEC") (together the "Concert Party") now have an interest in 15,887,279 ordinary shares of 10p each in Forum Energy ("Forum Energy Shares"), representing 54.8% of the issued share capital of the Company.

The Concert Party's interest in Forum Energy Shares is made up as follows:

• PPC has an interest in 7,337,079 Forum Energy Shares, representing 25.3% of the issued share capital of the Company; and

• FEC has an interest in 8,550,200 Forum Energy Shares, representing 29.5% of the issued share capital of the Company.
