TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS AND SHARE CAPITAL

In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Amlin plc
("Amlin") advises the market that as at 29 August 2008 there were 478,573,439
ordinary shares of 28.125p ("ordinary shares") in issue.

Amlin holds 10,701,320 ordinary shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Amlin is 467,872,119.

The above figure of 467,872,119 ordinary shares may be used by shareholders as
the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Amlin
under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
