Grant of SAYE options 

Stagecoach Group plc ("the Company") has invited its eligible UK employees to 

apply for share options over Ordinary Shares in the Company under the terms of 

the Stagecoach Sharesave Scheme ("the SAYE Scheme"). Based on the applications 

received, share options have been granted today, 1 September, 2008.

The exercise price of the share options is £2.51775 per Ordinary Share, being a 

10% discount to the closing mid share price on 4 August 2008 of £2.7975, being the last 

dealing day prior to the invitation to employees. The options are exercisable 

between 1 October 2011 and 31 March 2012, subject to the conditions of the 

rules of the SAYE Scheme. 

As part of the above arrangements, options over a total of 9,124,562 Ordinary Shares have today been granted, including the following share options granted to a director and other persons discharging management responsibility:

The transactions have been notified in accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a). Following these transactions, the individuals' interests in the securities of the Company are as follows:

In addition, the individuals listed above are potential beneficiaries of the Stagecoach Group Employee Benefit Trust 2003 and the Stagecoach Group Qualifying Employee Share Trust, which together hold 4,412,943 Ordinary Shares of 56/57th pence each, representing 0.61% of the total Ordinary Shares in issue.
