Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 1st September 2008 it purchased 199,706 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 229.00 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 224.75 pence (excluding expenses).
As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 223,543 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 227.39 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
