The Company has been advised that the Trustees of the Cable and Wireless plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") have released Ordinary Shares in the Company as detailed below:
On 27 August 2008 shares were released to the Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility listed below in accordance with the rules of the Company's Restricted Share Plan:

Additionally, on 28 August 2008 the Trust released 67,479 ordinary shares to George Battersby, a Company Director, in accordance with the rules of the Company's Performance Share Plan. The market price of ordinary shares on the date of vesting was £1.72 per share. On the same day (28 August 2008) 26,781 of the released shares were sold for tax at a price of £1.7805 per share.
