TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc ("Amlin") announces that on 4 September 2008 it transferred from
treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following
number of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each ("ordinary shares"):

35,453 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of
10,599,431 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 467,974,008 ordinary
shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
