Notification of Interest

Laura Ashley Holdings plc ("the Company") received notification on 29 September 2008 from Bonham Industries Limited that on 25 September 2008 it purchased 300,000 of the Company's ordinary shares of 5 pence each at an average price of £0.1742 pence per share increasing its total shareholding to 185,770,822 ordinary shares ("the said Shares"), representing 25.53% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company (excluding treasury shares).

The chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights and shares are effectively held is as follows:

Bonham Industries Limited is owned by KKP Holdings Sdn Bhd and Soo Lay Holdings Sdn Bhd, which in turn are owned by the Company's Chairman, Dr Khoo Kay Peng. Accordingly, KKP Holdings Sdn Bhd, Soo Lay Holdings Sdn Bhd and Dr Khoo Kay Peng are each deemed to have an interest in the said Shares.
