NEW NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT H&T GROUP PLC

H&T Group, the UK's leading pawnbroker by size of pledgebook, is delighted to announce the appointment of Malcolm Berryman to the board as non-executive director. The appointment will be effective from today, 1 October 2008.

He is currently a non-executive director at Lincoln Assurance and Scottish Friendly Assurance. 

Mr Berryman has recently worked with LECG to advise the Policyholder Advocate on the Norwich Union reattribution and separately, he has acted as advisor to the Association of Mutual Insurers. 

John Nichols, chief executive of H&T Group, commented: "We are delighted that Malcolm is joining the H&T Group team. He will provide us with strong experience in the financial services arena and in assisting the board with their development plans and aspirations in the coming years." 

Between 1990 and 2005, Mr Berryman was chief executive of two insurance companies, Liverpool Victoria and Crown Financial Management and qualified as an Actuary in 1983.
