National Express Group PLC ('NEG') - Voting Rights and Capital

In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1 we would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 30th September 2008 the issued share capital of NEG consists of 154, 683,943 ordinary shares of 5 pence each with voting rights.  

The total shares in issue has increased from 154,682,346 as at 31st August 2008 to 154,683,943 shares as at 30th September 2008 as a result of shares issued to satisfy the exercise of share options by employees.  

NEG holds 1,825,000 ordinary shares in treasury. Therefore the total number of voting rights in NEG is 152,858,943 ordinary shares of 5 pence each.

The above figure (152,858,943) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, NEG under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
