Persimmon plc (the "Company") announces that on 30 September 2008 it was informed that on that day, connected persons of Mr D G F Thompson, a Non-Executive Director, purchased the following quantities of shares at 398p:

As a result of these transactions Mr Thompson and his connected persons are interested in 60,032 shares or 0.02% of the issued share capital of the Company (excluding Treasury Shares). Mr Thompson also has a non-beneficial interest of 5,454 ordinary shares.

The issued share capital of the Company on 30 September 2008 (excluding shares held in Treasury) was 300,184,829 ordinary shares.
