LONDON (ShareCast) - Bosses at Dicom have splashed out more than £200,000 on shares in the scanning software group following last week’s well received full year figures.

Non-executive chairman Greg Lock paid 180p for 33,000 shares and 184p for a further 27,000 taking his stake to 85,000 shares.

Non-executive directors Chris Conway and John Alexander also got in on the act, with Conway snapping up 13,000 shares at 180p and 12,000 at 184p, while Alexander bought 14,000 and 13,000 respectively.

The company watched its share price start to recover last month after it reported a 5% hike in annual profits as margins increased despite flat sales.

Pre-tax profits rose from £9.6m to £10.1m in the year to end June on revenues of £160.2m against £160.4m a year earlier, though in local currencies there was a 4% improvement. Adjusted operating profits rose 8% to £15.5m as gross margins picked up a couple of percentage points to 56.4%.

"Our performance in the year was mixed. Revenue grew only modestly in local currency, and this is disappointing. On the other hand the strength of our business model resulted in a solid profit performance," chairman Greg Lock said.

"Our key goal in the year ahead is to accelerate revenue growth in our own software sales," he added.
