Small caps round-up: Dialight, Payzone, Cellcast

Date: Tuesday 15 Jan 2008

LONDON (ShareCast) - LED technology specialist Dialight expects full year results to be in line with expectations and said demand for components products have stabilised after a slow first quarter.

Sales in the components business were similar to those last year. The signals/lighting business has had another year of sales growth with second half demand helped by the first orders for the white LED Obstruction light and the Safesite hazardous light product lines.

“The board remains focussed on pursuing a corporate strategy that will continue to deliver sustained growth in shareholder value and to this end, has initiated a broad ranging review of all the group's businesses,” said the group.

Shares in toll-payment services provider Payzone jumped after it won the contract to provide BetEire Flow with retail and on-line toll payment services.

BetEire Flow is the operator of the planned barrier-free tolling system on Irelands M50, where the service will be provided.

"We believe that this contract win places Payzone in a strong position to successfully bid for similar contracts in other European countries as governments and public authorities seek new ways of managing road usage in the context of traffic congestion and carbon emissions," said Payzone CEO John Nagle.

Cellcast rallied after the interactive digital broadcaster said its SUMO.tv unit has won new mobile distribution agreements with Mobibase in France and Tapuz Mobile in Israel on the Orange networks in those countries.

The group also said discussions are progressing on further mobile distribution deals in a number of markets including Australia, Malaysia and South Africa.

Architect group Aukett Fitzroy Robinson reported a 21% rise in turnover to £19.7m in the year to 30 September with strong growth in the UK hotel and retails sectors and Russian operation. Pre-tax profit increased by £1.6m to £2.4m.

“Having now achieved two years of improving profitability, we are cautiously optimistic as we embark upon a period where we need to maintain our current financial performance and improve both the transparency and quality of our income in the longer term,” said chief executive Nicholas Thompson.

Clean engine developer Clean Air Power, which develops technology that enables heavy-duty engines to run on diesel and natural gas, has received an order worth £500,000 to provide nine catalytic converters for a US manufacturer.

The group also said it is encouraged by the interest being shown in the Genesis Dual-FuelTM product in both the UK and Europe. “The company enters 2008 with a strong order book and we expect to maintain this momentum going forward,” it added.

Hybrid fuel engine supplier Enova says shipments exceeded 375 electric drive systems for hybrid and/or electric vehicles in the 2007 calendar year, representing $8.7m in billings.

The increased shipment volume represents a ten-fold increase in delivery from 2006.

Online market research agency BrainJuicer said both revenue and profitability were comfortably ahead of expectations in the year to 31 December.

Miner Leyshon Resources said it has seen encouraging final drill results from the Zheng Guang gold zinc project in China, which are expected to lead to an upgraded resource estimate.
