LONDON (ShareCast) - Shares in Optos were in demand after chief financial officer Allan M. Watson bought 10,000 shares at £1.23 each.

Earlier this week, the retinal testing specialist reiterated it expects revenues to grow by 20-25% this year with sales especially strong in the US and Germany.

Revenue for the first half of the year was approximately $23m, driven by continued strong demand in the primary care market in the US and Germany as incidences of diabetes soar.

Some 95% of year to date revenue was generated by the company's core pay-per-patient examination model, it said. Customer contract renewals for the period were strong at 88%.
