LONDON (ShareCast) - Ladies clothing group Slimma saw profits more than halve to £64,000 in the six months despite a good showing by its main brand Frank Usher in the UK.
A strong performance in Usher’s sales to UK independent shops produced a sales increase, when compared to the same period last year, in excess of 6%, which served to offset weak exports markets, Slimma. Sales in the six months to end March fell from £9.3m to £8.1m.
Slimma added it faces challenging trading for the remainder of the current financial year but is cautiously optimistic that it will return a much improved result for the new financial year commencing October 2008.
