Aegis appoints Napier as chairman

LONDON (ShareCast) - Marketing communication group Aegis has appointed John Napier as chairman-designate.

Napier will join the board as a non-executive director with immediate effect and become non-executive chairman on 17 July 2008 after the retirement of Colin Sharman.

Napier was the chief executive of Hays from 1990 to 1998. He became the chairman of Booker in 1998 and in 1999 became the chairman of Kelda until 2008.

"He is a proven chairman who has delivered to shareholders, and brings international business skills and familiarity with marketing services. The Board and I have every confidence that he will be an excellent appointment," said Sharman.
