LONDON (ShareCast) - Drugs giants GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca are in demand as investors seek cover amid heavy falls seen across the FTSE 100 this morning. GlaxoSmithKline is more than 2% higher, while Astra has gained just over 1%.
Mining stocks are among those taking a battering. Anglo American leads the sector lower as metal prices slip back amid concerns that weakening economies will weigh on demand for industrial metals. South America-focused Antofagasta is also among the bottom 10 of the FTSE 100.
