LONDON (ShareCast) - ATH Resources chief executive Tom Allchurch spent more than £50,000 topping up his stake in the UK-focused coal miner yesterday, the company confirmed today.

He bought just under 30,000 shares through his Self-Invested Personal Pension and now has about 1.8m shares or 4.5% of the company.

Back in February, Allchurch took 25,000 shares in the company at 220p a time.

Last month the company reported sharply lower full-year pre-tax profits as turnover slipped on lower coal production. Output was hit by delays in planning for an extension to its Grievehill Opencast Coal Site in Scotland.
