Balfour Beatty to upgrade US Army homes

LONDON (ShareCast) - Construction firm Balfour Beatty has finalised agreements with the US Army to upgrade military homes at the West Point base in Virginia.

The 50-year term West Point Military Housing Privatisation Project will start with an eight-year ‘initial development period’ that will involve Balfour Beatty working on the restoration of 416 historic homes.

The work will be undertaken by Balfour Beatty Construction US.

The deal “provides further confirmation of our leading position in the US military accommodation market,” Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler said.

“We recognise the historic role that West Point has played in the history of the United States and look forward to providing superior housing and services to the military families of West Point.”
