Pennon trading as expected

LONDON (ShareCast) - Trading has been in line with expectations at Pennon since the end of March, the water group said Tuesday.

Its waste management unit Viridor remains confident of delivering continued full year growth in operating profit before intangibles.

The firm also said that South West Water, now in the fourth year of the K4 period (2005 - 2010), remains on target to meet the current regulatory contract.

In June, the company reported a 14% hike in pre-tax profit to £149.6m, while sales came in stronger at £875m, up from £748.3m last year.

Half year results are due on 27 November.
