Date: Monday 18 Aug 2008
LONDON (ShareCast) - Michael Page heads the risers after Switzerland's Adecco today indicated that it is considering a hostile bid. The recruitment firm was also boosted by a 21.5% rise in first half pre-tax profits.
Property website Rightmove is worst performer, saying sellers have knocked almost £5,500 off the asking price of the average property in the past month, with Londoners selling for a whopping £21,000 less. Housebuilder Persimmon has also slipped back.
Financial software group Misys is down despite announcing a tie-up with Tanzanian bank CRDB. The deal forms part of CRDB’s expansion plans that involve opening 10 new branches each year.
