LONDON (ShareCast) - International Power has upped the estimated costs of outages at its UK coal-fired power station Rugeley by £25m.
International Power warned earlier this month problems with Unit 7 at the plant would cost £45m to repair and mean the unit being out of commission until late September.
Today it added that Unit 6 had also been affected by a similar technical problem, caused by the introduction of new equipment, and would cost £25m to put right. Unit 6 is expected to return to operation in early October.
International Power added that the estimated costs of both repairs are before taking into account any recovery under Rugeley's insurance policy.
