LONDON (ShareCast) - Support services firm Babcock International has closed a deal to jointly provide training and support services to the Royal School of Military Engineering.
Holdfast Training Services, a joint venture between Babcock and construction and support services firmCarillion, has been awarded a £3bn 30-year contract by the Royal School of Military Engineering Public Private Partnership.
As well as delivering training services, Babcock will provide facilities management services.
Babcock expects its share of the £3gn contract award will amount to £1.5bn over the 30-year lifetime of the contract.
Babcock’s chief executive, Peter Rogers, said the contract award was the culmination of a prolonged period of acting in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
“This contract significantly strengthens our order book, which now stands at over £5bn, and underpins the long term performance of our business,” Rogers said.
