LONDON (ShareCast) - Zinc and nickel producer Talvivaara Mining leads the industrial metals sector lower after Friday’s update in which it pointed to the effects of lower prices for the metals it produces.
It’s not all gloom in the sector though. Gippsland, which announced this morning that it had doubled reserves at its Egyptian tantalum-tin project, is up more than 10%.
Defensively oriented sectors tobacco and health care are doing well. Imperial Tobacco and British American are both up by just over 1%, while the medical devices firm Smith and Nephew is also going well.
