LONDON (ShareCast) - Cadogan Petroleum’s chief executive Mark Tolley has spent nearly £200,000 lifting his stake in the Ukraine-focused oil and gas company.

Tolley, who is based in Kiev, bought 194,000 shares at just over 102p a time and now has about 2.86m shares in the company.

Cadogan last week said that it had an “exciting second half of 2008” ahead of it, despite concerns relating to two of its key licenses.

The group slumped last month when a regional court in Ukraine ruled against the re-registration of the Pirkovskoe and Zagoryanska licences to Cadogan’s joint venture partner Nadra. The licenses are in Ukraine’s Dnieper-Donets basin, its main oil and gas-producing area.
