LONDON (ShareCast) - Vitec's chief executive Gareth Rhys Williams has resigned his position to take up a new job.
Williams, who has run the photographic and broadcast peripherals group since 2001, is to take over as chief executive of a safety equipment manufacturer.
Finance director Alastair Hewgill has been appointed interim chief executive of the from October with his position being filled by Richard Cotton, 47, who joins Vitec in November for car parts supplier Wagon.
"Gareth leaves Vitec with the board's best wishes for the next stage of his career. He can be proud of what he and the team have achieved. Until a new chief executive is appointed, he leaves the Group in Alastair's experienced and capable hands," chairman Michael Harper said.
