LONDON (ShareCast) - Vodafone has announced the appointment of two new bosses to head the phone giant’s emerging markets division with Nicky Read taking over as chief executive of the Asia-Pacific & Middle East Region.
Read, currently chief executive of Vodafone UK, will head the Asia-Pacific & Middle East Region which will comprise Australia, China, Egypt, Fiji, India, New Zealand and Qatar. He will be succeeded by Guy Laurence, currently CEO of Vodafone Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Morten Lundal, currently head of Middle East & Africa in EMAPA, will be appointed chief executive of the Central Europe & Africa Region, which include Vodafone's interests in the Czech Republic, Ghana, Hungary, Kenya, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Vodacom Group in South Africa.
Earlier this month, new Vodafone boss Vittorio Colao appointed a new head of Europe and announced the departure of Paul Donovan, the boss of Vodafone's emerging markets division.
