LONDON (ShareCast) - Reports of excellent “progress” on the Chongwe copper belt had Zambezi Resources building gains early on today, as drilling confirmed zones of gold and copper mineralisation.
Zambezi’s programme incorporates soil and rock chip sampling, geological mapping and RC drilling. Four prospect areas have been RC drilled in the current field season so far.
In addition to the ongoing programme of soil sampling and RC drilling, a high resolution helicopter-borne aeromagnetic survey will be flown over the southern part of the Chongwe copper belt commencing late August, the company said.
This will be followed by orientation helicopter-borne VTEM electromagnetic surveys over Chalalobuka and Chalimbana, it added.
Further drilling will be planned based on the results of the aeromagnetic and electromagnetic surveys, the soil sampling survey, and as follow-up to the RC drilling completed to date.
In addition, the company has an ongoing programme of drilling and other exploration on other copper and gold prospects in Zambia.
