LONDON (ShareCast) - Zambezi Resources hit a six-month best today after the Zambian focused explorer said three significant bedrock conductors have been defined by electromagnetic survey at the Cheowa copper-gold project.
In December last year, the company completed a trial helicopter-borne electromagnetic (VTEM) survey over the known copper-gold mineralized zone at Cheowa, 95km southeast of Lusaka.
The survey outlined three discrete bedrock conductors closely related to copper-gold mineralization and consistent with the presence of massive sulphides.
One of the conductors is virtually coincident with mineralization drilled in the late 1960's which includes an intersection of approximately 2.3 metres of 5.14% copper, said the group.
Diamond drilling to test for the presence of massive copper sulphides will start in May, with two drill holes planned at each conductor.
Managing director of Zambezi Julian Ford said, “If the initial drill results are encouraging, Zambezi will be able to use VTEM to rapidly delineate further zones of potential mineralization at Cheowa over the entire 15km of strike length.”
