Bryan, who has been in the role for six years, will be replaced by the British pub operator's former chief executive Stephen Goodyear.
Goodyear was chief executive of Young’s from 2003 to July 2016 before leaving from the post to become a non-executive director.
Bryan said: “In the past seven months he has adapted very effectively to a non-executive role and I am delighted that, with the full support of the board, he will be taking over as chairman.”
Shares in Young's fell 0,23% to 1,308p at the close.
