The woman, who was identified by police as Nasim Aghdam, a 39-year-old resident of San Diego, was said to have taken her own life after the attack. She was found holding the handgun that had been used in the shootings.
Two of the workers shot were left in critical condition and the other is in fair condition.

Police chief Ed Barberini said: "We know very, very little right now, and we probably won't know more until tomorrow morning."
According to other police comments, Aghdam may have known at least one of the victims but it could be a domestic violence incident.
According to the FBI, a female shooter is a rarity, with only six out of 160 incidents between 2000 and 2013 perpetrated by a woman.
SBPD released a statement early on Wednesday morning confirming that officers arrived on scene at 12:48pm and "encountered numerous employees fleeing the premises. Officers encountered one victim with an apparent gunshot wound at the site and two additional gunshot victims that had fled to a neighboring business.
"Inside the complex officers located a deceased female inside with a gunshot wound that is believed to have been self-inflicted. A total of four people were transported to local hospitals, three of which were suffering from gunshot wounds. The extent of the victims’ injuries are unknown at this time."
YouTube spokesman Chris Dale gave a statement on the incident and said: “Today it feels like the entire community of YouTube and all of the employees were victims of this crime. Our hearts go out to those who suffered in this particular attack.".
US President Donald Trump tweeted on the event sending thoughts and prayers to the victims.
“Was just briefed on the shooting at YouTube's HQ in San Bruno, California. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved. Thank you to our phenomenal law enforcement officers and first responders that are currently on the scene," he wrote.
Andre Campbell, the surgeon treating the victims, lashed out against the soft gun control measures in the country: “Once again we are confronted with the specter of a mass casualty situation in the county of San Francisco. You would think that after Las Vegas, Parkland and the Pulse nightclub shooting, that we’d see an end to this but we have not.
“Gun violence happens every day in the United States. We’ve got a serious problem we need to address. I don’t have all the answers but at least we need discussion about it nationally.”
