DTE Energy is a diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. DTE Energy's subsidiary, Detroit Edison, is America’s seventh largest electric utility, supplying energy to 2.1m customers. Another utility subsidiary, MichCon, is the 10th largest natural gas local distribution company in the United States, serving 1.2m customers in Michigan. The combined assets of these two operations exceed $17bn.
