Weekly US unemployment claims little changed
Initial US unemployment claims dipped last week, while secondary jobless claims were little changed.
Unemployment claims for the week ending in 8 April were down by 1,000 to 234,000, according to the Department of Labor.
Claims data for the previous week meanwhile were revised higher by 1,000 to 235,000.
The four-week moving average for claims, which is meant to smoothe out the volatility of the weekly data, slipped by 3,000 to 247,250.
Secondary unemployment claims, those which are not filed for the first time and referencing the week before decreased by 7,000 to hit 2.028m.
