Charter could buy Time Warner Cable for $55bn
US cable television giant Charter Communications was said to be in talks to acquire its larger rival Time Warner Cable in a $55bn deal, various media reported on Monday afternoon.

Charter, the third largest cable operator in the States, would pay up to $100 a share in cash, and the rest in its own stock.
Brighter House Networks, a US smaller cable company, could be also merged into the combined company in order to compete with Comcast, the largest US cable business, the same people said.
