Of the 650 members of the House of Commons, 571 are already users of the social network, representing 88% of the total. Nevertheless, of the 174 new MPs, eight of them are not present on Twitter.
Every one of the SNP’s 56 MPs are on Twitter, but some of them broke the rules of the UK Parliament on Wednesday and tweeted pictures on their first day at work.

Other MPs such as Sadiq Khan have chosen this channel to announce his candidacy for the London mayoral election. Nevertheless, Khan won criticism with his decision to choose the hashtag #TogetherWeKhan to support his campaign.

On the other side, some deposed MPs have chosen to close their Twitter accounts, such as Conservative Esther McVey, who joined the network back in 2009 and had sent over 5,600 tweets to her 16,000 followers, according to a cached page of her account.
