Private taxi service Uber Technologies has ambitious growth plans for China, which is reportedly its number one priority.
In an email leaked to the Financial Times, Uber is said to have plans to invest more than $1 billion in the world’s second largest economy.
Uber is said to be completing almost one million trips in China each day.
The company also claims that trips in Chinese cities are growing at a much faster pace than New York City.
According to the letter, Uber is taking a bullish approach to China despite raids on its officers and a crackdown on drivers considered to be operating illegally.
