Jordan executes two jihadist prisoners in revenge move against ISIS
Jordan has executed two jihadist prisoners a day after ISIS militants posted a video on social media showing Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh being burned alive inside a cage.
A spokesman from the Jordanian government told the Financial Times (FT) that the executions “happened at sunrise in Swaqa prison” south of Amman.
One of the executed jihadists was a failed suicide bomber, another had been sentenced to death in 2007 for committing acts of terrorism.
The decision to execute was an act of revenge, according to reports, for ISIS’s killing of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh.
Spokesman for the government Mohammed al-Momani also told the FT that “there will be more actions taken but we will not discuss them”.
