OECD sees US, UK growth easing; Eurozone firming
Economic growth is showing stronger signs in the eurozone overall, but there are signs of easing in the US and UK, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said.
The OECD's monthly leading indicator, a measure designed to highlight turning points in the international economy, found trends are pointing more strongly to a loss in growth momentum in Brazil and China.
In the Eurozone, the OECD found growth is showing further signs of firming in France and Italy. The UK's growth reading slipped to 99.8 in June, after dipping below 100 points earlier in May - 100 is the long-term average.
Stable growth is expected in Germany and Russia as well as in the major five Asian countries: China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Korea, the international body added.
